I would like to extend my thanks to those so quick to help newcomers. It is very much appreciated. Though I believe I am fairly well informed at this point, I have a few more specific questions:

He can be found at the smithy looking at weapons, at the grocery store (Levi wants non-perishables, wants to stock up), sitting outside looking through his journal--green cape around his shoulders, hiding his wings with more wings--or just about anywhere else by appointment. ]

Aside from the Sheriff, who proved to be capable, the other deputies living in Depot 8 were better suited for simple guard work and not repelling attacks. I'm inclined to believe volunteers from other enclosures are brought in as back up in case there is an attack, not because there will be an attack.

Battle Dome, 30 minutes.
[Ginia closes the book and sets off. The Battle Dome isn't far from her community building so she'll be there within ten minutes. And if he doesn't show up, no loss, she can always play around with a room.]

Erwin moves and stands with confidence--fully uniformed, back straight, shoulders set--but it's clear from the way his gaze darts this way and that he's out of his element. ]

Still silent, she gestures for him to follow as she heads toward room four.
The Battle Dome room has been transformed into shooting range. There are four booths for people to shoot from with targets at the end, each both with its own control panel. There's also a large table with stools for someone to sit at as they maintain a weapon. Weapon racks cover the walls, ranging from assorted knives to pistols to larger weaponry such as rifles.
The room is built out of some odd sense of nostalgia; it was her personal range and collection years ago. But talking inside a room was also practical; anyone could look into a room from the observation deck, but no one could hear.
She takes a seat at the table and picks up a black bracelet off the tabletop. Removing rings from the bracelet, she slips them onto her fingers.]
/I trust what is discussed in this room won't be shared with anyone else./
[Ginia signs, fingers and hands moving rapidly as a feminine voice, though slightly stilted and robotic, emits from the bracelet. She watches Erwin with a loose smile, gauging his reaction and waiting.

Though the room they enter is foreign to him, the weapons are at least visually similar to ones he knows. The use of simple rifles and handguns is a skill common to all branches of their military, though Survey Corps uses them far less than the Military Police or Garrison. It's the bracelet and set of rings that are most intriguing to him, and it's only then that he realizes that she must not speak. His attention is captured by the movement of her fingers; he's never seen anything like it, and he can't quite hide his interest in the way those movements instruct the device to talk. Politely, however, he does not comment.
He does, though, take a moment to consider her words. Depending on what is discussed, he may feel that it is necessary to relate the information to Levi, at least. While Erwin certainly doesn't tell Levi everything, he thinks it would be incredibly unfair--and perhaps even dangerous--to keep information from him in a situation where both of them are so on edge and out of their comfort zone. Still, he's able to concede one thing. ]
I can promise that I will not share anything relating to you personally.
[ His composure remains solid, unrelenting, and determination makes his jaw firm. ]
However, it would be irresponsible of me as a leader to keep my subordinate in the dark should I learn anything that would help him to better survive here.

Subordinate, not plural, male. Not Jean or Marco, but someone else, much closer. Possibly new arrival? Well wasn't he lucky. While Ginia didn't like the idea of information being given to an unknown, she could see the reasoning behind it. She also knew if she played her cards right, it'd only be a matter of time before meeting him.
Ginia agrees with a nod.]

Ginia. [ He repeats her name as he extends a large, cool hand for her to shake. ] Erwin Smith. [ He'd stated his own name in his message earlier, but finds it only polite to properly introduce himself face-to-face.
He's by no means unfamiliar with the concept of bounty hunters; the Military Police was known to turn to them from time to time. With as corrupt a government as exists within the walls, there's quite a living to be made doing less-than-legal work for hire. It isn't so unusual for a bounty hunter to have a background of military training, even if they'd never completed it. They're capable people, Erwin knows--he's worked with a few himself, in his time. They're quite good at helping him to persuade reluctant members of parliament that yes, they do want to fund Survey Corps' next expedition after all. ]
I may seem straight-laced, but I've collaborated with several bounty hunters in the past.

[Her fingers tap against the tabletop again.]
/You came quickly just to find out my background. And now you know. So the question I have for you is what do you really want?/

You've found me out. [ The way his lips quirk into a small smile indicate that he isn't in the least upset about that. ] To put it frankly: I want contacts. Mentally and physically capable people who know something about this place, but aren't content with it. I thought, perhaps, that in meeting you, I would be meeting someone with a like mind.
[ He's careful to catch her eyes with his. ]
Is that the case, Ginia?

[She's not content with this place, not with the experiments around, but at the same time leaving is a death wish. She'll be a dog if it means staying alive just a little bit longer. All the same, his words do align well with her plans. Allies are everything in a place like this.]
/Though I'm glad you're just not a pretty face. An alliance could be worthwhile./

If I were a man more easily swayed by pretty faces, perhaps that would be the case.

I'm glad you agree, in any case. Technology where my comrades and I hail from is not quite so advanced as what can be found here. [ A gesture with one to the weapons lined up along the walls. ] If we could learn to use it, I am sure we would make even more effective allies--and I would be in your debt.

Ammo is short in the village, but seems to be plentiful on missions. I would also presume drafts would be generous. Thankfully, all weapons and ammo can be replicated in here./

We are. Jean Kirstein is a cadet under my command. The three-dimensional maneuver gear is our primary weapon. Assuming that Jean has explained its basic premise--you have nothing similar here, or where you come from?
[ Given that technology otherwise seems to have developed far beyond the capabilities of his own world, he's somewhat surprised to find that they have something within the walls that others do not. ]

/He explained it as a system of compressed gas and grappling hooks to propel and pull a person through the air. While grappling hooks exist, they aren't normally used in an offensive manner. I admit the uniqueness of the system is what's caught my attention./
[From the drawing, Jean's explanation, and seeing him wear it, Ginia has a faint idea of how it would work. And though the technology would be dated in a sense, she could also see use for it in the real world. It'd certainly make scaling buildings much easier. Though a modern equivalent would probably use rocket power for more force and speed. Hmm.]

That is essentially how the propulsion system works, yes. We also have blades which attach to handles. They serve as the actual weapon. I would show you, but my own gear has not arrived yet, unfortunately.
[ She already knows enough, and he had said that he would be in her debt; letting her examine the gear isn't a risk. ]

[Ginia waves lightly at the weapons on the wall. All of them were recreations from the settings in the Battle Dome system. Was it possible the Battle Dome drew information from the population, choosing locations, enemies, and weapons that would be familiar to the users? It would be a smart system and if that were the case, recreating a 3DMG wouldn't be difficult.]
/But I'm in no rush. I would prefer seeing the real thing anyway. I'll be gentle, of course./

[ He gives the arrayed weapons another cursory glance. All creations of the Battle Dome, are they? ]
Though I would be interested to see if the Battle Dome were capable of replicating it. I've heard that it can create nearly any scenario desired.
